A total of 2,410 local residents are set to benefit from the TUPAD program through the initiative of Bataan 3rd District Congresswoman Gila Garcia.
The beneficiaries recently attended an orientation at the AFAB Sports Complex in Mariveles, conducted by Congresswoman Garcia, alongside local officials and representatives from PESO and DOLE.
As part of the program, the TUPAD beneficiaries will be involved in waste segregation efforts, which are part of the congresswoman’s “Trash to Cashback” project. Launched last year, the project encourages recycling and proper waste management in the community.
TUPAD, which stands for Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, is a community-based initiative under DOLE that provides temporary employment to individuals affected by displacement or unemployment.
